Nov 27, 2008 stuck in a Memory Stick PRO Duo (without the adapter) in my Acer Aspire One notebook, but was able to get it out with tape. Perhaps this will help other people in the same situation. Mar 9, 2009 Whenever I insert an SD card or Sony Memory Stick in the memory card reader (VGP-MCA20) of my SZ, the computer doesn't recognize it. If I double click on the removable drive, it hangs the computer. I tried 16MB and 512MB SD Cards and 16MB Sony Memory Stick. All of them don't work. I tried them with my FW notebook and they work fine. So, it is not the media problem.
I tried to restore from Recovery DVD with Windows XP, install with Windows Vista and I still have the same problem. Mar 9, 2009 I have an HP Pavilion tx2000. It installed properly but now it can't read all my memory sticks and it only give me a massage that I need to format the stick (even if its an old one that I used recently). When i take the sd card out.unknown device disappears. I have also re-installed the drivers from here for the card reader. It seems to lead to an error code 43.
Jan 21, 2010 Im interested in the HP ProBook 6540b: I presently have a Lenovo T500 with the ATI 3650 video card, primarily use the UltraNav mouse (similar to point-stick), and regard the Lenovo keyboard as being pretty nice. Yes, i actually DO think the T61 keyboard was better. But that's besides the point. What I want to know is. How does the 3650 compare to the 4550? How does the ultranav compare to the point-stick? How is the keyboard in comparison to a Lenovo?
My desire is to have a number pad, nearly equivalent keyboard, faster graphics (its newer, it should be better), and hopefully, the point-stick doesn't drift like my Lenovo does. I don't do CAD, only light video encoding, and I fully intend to play Diablo-iii if it ever comes out. Feb 26, 2015 My card reader stopped working. I read somewhere that it could be burnt out.

Now this card reader cannot read some standard SD cards (other work fine). Especially, I have a Transcend SD 4GB 133x (that is problematic. When I put the card in the reader, W7 tells me to format the card.
This I do not want to do, of course. If I open Disk Management, it takes ages to open, and eventually shows the card as 'Unallocated'.
