Anti-fling Chainsaw Chain Oil

Menu. Information.

I only found this out the other day but remember to shake the can about ten times longer than you think you need to. Honestly it makes a huge difference to what comes out. The ball will gradually get quieter when you rattle the can as what's inside gets nice and thick '01 Suzuki GZ125 - scrapped '91 Kawasaki GT550 - given away '95 Honda VRX400 / '08 Yamaha XT660R - current bikes You must be logged in to rate posts Rob W This post is not being displayed.

I was looking at wurth as it was recommended to me before but couldn't remember which one. And yes, shaking it like a lunatic works with things like wd40, spray cans and even deodorant. Normally you get to the end of the can and it ends up just aerosol and no deodorant, paint, oil etc. If you dont shake it like mad, you get more of that and less aerosol so by the time you get to the end of the can, you end up with loads of aerosol.

I have had it the opposite way too - just what you want so like oil with wd40 and it dribbles out of the end cheers fellas Rusty '02 Vito Camper + CBR600F3 You must be logged in to rate posts Zero This post is not being displayed. Sorry I meant the shaking is to get the correct consistency with the heavier chain lubes. You don't notice it so much with the Castrol stuff, but it makes a huge difference with some brands like the Fuchs/Silkolene chain grease. Its like when you open a can of paint that has been sitting for a while, if you just dipped the brush in without stirring it you'd just get the thin liquid at the top. Rattling the can like fuck is like stirring the paint for a few minutes. The only reason I mention it, is because a good 2 or 3 minutes of rattling made a huge amount of difference to what was sprayed out. A good 2 or 3 minutes of rattling As long as that, eh? 2010 Street Triple, you know, the nice one with the round headlights. A problem with 'Non-Fling' is they congeal in the front sprocket area and are immovable with any de-greaser except petrol or brake/break cleaners. In an ideal world I would probably always use something like silkolene but, at this time of year when I'm commuting every day and have no garage or driveway, the dry lube is really handy, as I can just give the chain a quick once over. When I have time and the weather's not too bad though, I'll use the other stuff, as I feel it's better for the chain and sprockets. As you say, it does seem to gunk up a bit more but, is less hassle as it's less messy and is far better then leaving it until I have the time, good weather and daylight at this time of year. If you don't oil it excessively it's not going to go on your tyre. Never had any stuff out of a can that I thought was any good, especially that wax bollocks.
