Logitech Quickcam Ultra Vision Usb Webcam For Mac

Hi, I have a 2008 mac pro and am looking to get a webcam. I know the isight should be the choice but it's fetching stupid prices I really don't want to pay for a webcam. I had a xbox live webcam ages ago and it worked great but got lost, since then I have brought a creative labs and logitech stx cam BOTH of which didn't work.

I am told the Logitech Quikcam Pro 9000 will work but obviously the software features won't. Im not too sure what to do. Pick another xbox cam up for £20. It doesn't work with Photo Booth or Quicktime Player Pro unless you install a helper program like iGlasses (which costs $9.95). It doesn't work at all with iMovie. It also has a built in mic but in my experience its not very usable. For some reason the audio is delayed compared to the video. My iChat friends tell me the sound is out of sync with the video. So I just use a separate USB mic I already had. My experience is with MacOS X 10.5.2.

I just purchased a Logitech QuickCam Ultra Vision to use with my Leopard based Mac Pro since I read that they work well with OS X but I can't get it to work. I have plugged it into a USB hub and even the USB port on the front of the computer. I have also restarted the computer. It doesn't recognize it at all. From what I read there is no need to install a driver. I have even pressed the buttons on both side of the computer. I am trying to use it with PhotoBooth.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or could it be a faulty camera?
